I'm a PhD candidate advised by Kathy Cottingham and Ben Letcher (USGS Conte Lab). I was drawn to study ecology after a series of large floods transformed the Pennsylvania creeks I grew up exploring.
Healthy watersheds are essential for natural and human systems but are highly impacted by human activity. River systems face habitat loss and fragmentation, non-native introductions, and shifting temperature and flow regimes. To conserve freshwater systems in a changing world, I'm broadly interested in: - understanding what controls the abundance and distribution of stream organisms - quantifying organisms' contributions to ecosystem functions and services - predicting how organisms and ecosystems will respond to environmental change |
